Making Inclusion Tangible at the Day of Inclusion at TU Graz

What makes this event special is not only the opportunity to present our Vision Impairment Simulations. It is the opportunity to observe what happens when abstract concepts become personal experiences.

We often discuss inclusion in terms of policies, accessibility standards or design principles. These conversations are essential, but they remain theoretical until someone experiences, even for a brief moment, how differently the same environment can be perceived.

Throughout the day, visitors stepped into our XR simulations and explored everyday situations from perspectives they had never encountered before. What followed were conversations that rarely started with technology. Instead, they focused on design, participation and the question of how many barriers remain invisible until we are confronted with them ourselves.

This is what continues to motivate our work. XR is not valuable because it is immersive. It is valuable when it creates a shift in perspective that stays with people long after they take off the headset.

A sincere thank you to TU Graz for inviting us once again and for creating a space where curiosity, dialogue and new perspectives can emerge.
