Unseen Worlds: Expanding perspectives through immersive technologies
At the Unseen Worlds event, three leading women from Austria’s XR community came together to demonstrate how immersive technologies can enrich storytelling, support scientific understanding and create meaningful social impact. The event highlighted a growing movement within the XR space that focuses not only on technical innovation, but on the real-world impact these technologies can have when used with purpose and intention.
XR as a tool for creativity, science and social awareness
Unseen Worlds showcased a diverse range of applications for XR, from artistic storytelling to scientific visualization and meaningful social engagement. XREye’s contribution
Our CEO, Katharina Krösl, shared how XREye uses immersive simulation to raise awareness for vision impairments. By showing how the world may look to someone living with low vision, the experience creates a deeper understanding of the barriers people face in everyday environments. This perspective encourages more inclusive thinking and supports design decisions that are informed by empathy rather than assumption.
